Our Induction into the Atheist Blogosphere!

SHAFT was recently spotlighted by prominent atheist bloggers PZ Myers of Pharyngula and Hemant Mehta of Friendly Atheist! It’s really quite the honor for our fledgling group. The support for our group in these posts’ respective comments was astounding! We also got several laughs and kudos for our name ha ha.

Also, our website has recently been added to ranks of nearly 1,000 other blogs at The Atheist Blogroll. The Atheist Blogroll is a community building service provided free of charge to atheist bloggers worldwide. If you would like to join, visit Mojoey at Deep Thoughts for more information. It’s an easy and effective way to put your website on the radar.

And so it came to pass that USU SHAFT did wax exceedingly powerful among the godless.

About Jon Adams

I have my bachelors in sociology and political science, having recently graduated from Utah State University. I co-founded SHAFT, but have also been active in the College Democrats and the Religious Studies Club. I was born in Utah to a loving LDS family. I left Mormonism in high school after discovering some disconcerting facts about its history. Like many ex-Mormons, I am now an agnostic atheist. I am amenable to being wrong, however. So should you disagree with me about religion (or anything, really), please challenge me. I welcome and enjoy a respectful debate. I love life, and am thankful for those things and people that make life worth loving: my family, my friends, my dogs, German rock, etc. Contact: jon.earl.adams@gmail.com

  1. Totally awesome.

Although I can’t help but wonder about the effectiveness of a huge giant alphabetized list. I know that my eyes kind of glaze over when scrolling down such a big list.

  2. I am going to write until I find help…..I’m a mother of 3 grown children. My son, 30 years old is in a middle of a nightmare because he married a mormon girl (age 30 also) 2 years ago, they had a baby daughter 9 months later, then she left and took my grand daughter back to the farm. A momon community where her father thinks he is king/high priest…..Things are going rather badly. I’m hoping I can find a direction, a path through this, because it is wrecking my son. He is a good man. That’s why this girl wanted a baby by him, I convinced.

Is there a growning trend where these girls, who want babies, but not fathers, just find a good man to sire their children. He was acceptable to her family and they had one Hell of a wedding! But she states plainly…..all I wanted was this baby!!

So that’s the story and I’m hoping if I tell it enough I might find some ‘others’ that are experiencing the same insanity!! Looking for support, advice, confirmation that this is not just a single stupid thing.

I found this blog on the web. Someone may have similar issues as well. I’m reading all the blogs looking for someone that I can figure this thing out with.
